Hello again my sustainably curious friends. If you are visiting for the first time, thank you for taking your time to stop by. Today we will have a look at step 5 of 5 steps towards sustainable fashion on a budget. If you haven’t read the blog post yet, I would recommend taking a peek here. It’s a very short and practical guide to your sustainable closet. If you’re already looking for sustainable brands, you can have a look at my latest recommendation on where to buy sustainable clothes.
Step five is all about shopping vintage. Our main reason for shopping vintage before going to sustainable brands is because buying previously owned items is the best sustainable practice. What you’re doing is preventing these items from ending up in landfills. Shopping second hand is great for the environment since you are re-using what’s already produced and is friendly to your pocket because you’re buying high quality items at a bargain.
Disclosure: This post is part of a collaboration with Veter vintage who kindly gifted me the clothes. The opinion expressed here are my own after wearing and loving the clothes.
There are thousands of online vintage stores out here doing their best to encourage us to re-use what is already produced. Veter vintage caught my attention with their unique approach to picking pre-loved items. The selection is exquisite and unique. You can see their love for sustainability just by visiting their website. 5% of their sale goes to weforest.org
It’s spring so my first pick was this colourful shirt-dress. I used a red belt and a hat as accessories. I wore the dress backwards to give it a clean look in front because the buttons are colourful. If you’re going for similar look, you can add accessories to make it fit your personal style. Find more vintage dresses here.
The oversized blazer fashion trend has been out here for a while now. Instead of going for low-quality blazers from the fast fashion brands, I suggest you grab one high quality blazer from a vintage store to achieve the chic look I have on the image below. My current favourite blazer sold by Vetervintage is the Armani blazer.
Another trend we love is the oversized sweater which can also be found in any vintage store. I went for this used wool sweater because of the beautiful calm colours/colors. The sweater can be styled so many ways. Try pairing it with hidden shorts to achieve that proportional look. You can check out more knitwear here.
What do you think about my vintage finds? If you’re also shopping vintage, please share your finds with me by tagging me on instagram @belindasmetana and I will share your look on my instagram stories.
Thanks for stopping by. If you have a favourite online vintage store you would like to suggest, please drop a comment in the box below and I will check it out. If we’re not connected yet, Let’s connect on the social media handles below.

Thanks for the contribution Sumit
I love to shop vintage clothes as well, most of the things i’m getting are mostly blazers. You definitely look amazing wearing those, you have such a good taste 🙂
I have checked the vintage store and they don’t have much in stock now. I will try to revisit cause I’m currently shopping for summer and I don’t buy new stuff cause I can’t stand the low quality.
You are looking so cute in these beautiful outfits. I appreciate the concept behind shopping at the online vintage store. I would check it.

I can see myself wearing the floral vintage dress. It looks really chic, elegant and ‘playful’. I’m all about colors and this one is eye-catching!
