If you have been following my Conscious Fashion journey, you know that we are now at the stage where we are slowly and gently hunting for some new items to add to our closet. In case you are just joining this community, welcome here. I highly recommend a few beginners posts like 5 steps towards sustainable fashion on a budget and 5 tips to shop fashion sustainably. In this article, I will be sharing with you all about sustainable luxury loungewear Ivy Marie.
Sustainability is becoming more popular in the fashion industry. With more brands doing their best to be sustainable and some doing their best to keep up with the trend by greenwashing, it can be very challenging to pick a good brand. But sweat no more because I have VERY FEW pieces from brands that I believe are genuinely into sustainability.
It’s been over 5 months since I received and used my loungewear. I decided not give any review before actually using an item for an extended period of time because I want to give you an honest feedback. Ivy Marie has found a way to provide exciting, comfortable, luxurious, and sustainable pieces for every body type.
Material?
They are made from 100% certified organic cotton – Organic cotton is more sustainable because there’s no use of chemicals, fertilizers or pesticides in their production. It also uses less water, limits soil erosion, and preserves the quality of soil.
Who made it?
A lot of brands will sing about how sustainable they are but will not be able to tell you where their manufacturers are based. If a brand is not clear about who produces their clothes, I would tell you to run. If you visit Ivy Marie, you will be able to see that their production line is clear. Their pieces are produced gently by a woman owned manufacturing company called Gratitude Kolors. The factory is certified by Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS) .
Why is Ivy Marie Sustainable?
Some of the major reason why you will find Ivy Marie sustainable are:
- It’s easy to trace where your clothes are made.
- It’s size inclusive.
- It has a meaning beyond making money. They are passionate about people and planet which can be seen through their commitment to giving back to the environment and the use of environmental friendly materials.
- There’s transparency from production to when the items get to. you.
- They use environmental friendly packaging.
- More invested in making pieces that last in your closet.
I always appreciate your thoughts so let me know what you think about this brand? Is there any other conscious fashion brands you would recommend?
