Have you seen how much waste we, as humans leave in the ocean? I have personally seen a huge pile of waste and recall being overwhelmed with negative emotions because I knew I couldn’t clean it all up by myself. This is where sea 2 see sustainable sunglasses comes in to play a huge positive role. Sea 2 see eyewear is a brand that sees ocean waste as raw material. They collaborate with fishing communities in order to collect discarded marine plastic waste which is recycled and used as raw material.Â
Disclosure: This post is part of a collaboration with Sea2See eyewear. The opinion expressed here are my own after months of  using my sunglasses. I will never recommend a product that I haven’t genuinely loved because I am discouraging overconsumption and encouraging conscious consumerism.
Owning anything from sea2see means participating in cleaning the ocean without showing up physically. It also means providing a source of income for the fishermen in Ghana via the UPSEA program. Read more on UPSEA PROJECT GHANA.
One of the major things that drew me to  Sea 2 See Sustainable sunglasses is that they are design inclusive. This might not be important to you but as a black woman, Finding beautiful sunglasses that goes well with my skin tone can be challenging. What I noticed with this brand is that each design comes in different colours that favours all skin complexions.Â
Let me share my personal favourites below. Feel free to scroll through sea2see.org and let me know your favourite.
CARMEN EYEWEAR
Carmen was my first pick. It comes in the Black frame with black gradient lense or havana pink gradient frame with brown gradient lense. My choice was havana pink gradient frame which complements my skin complexion.
Fly
This is another personal favourite that I’m planning to get soon. I love the shape and the colour options.
Sea 2 See also offers wide rage of optical Frames. If interested, view all the options on Optical-frames.
Sea2See is PETA approved which means they do not use any animal products. It has also obtained Gold level of Cradle to Cradle certification.

Awesome read! Very informative. Thank you
Thank you for taking your time to read.
Love, love the look of them, And the price is reasonable too. Sunglasses are a useful investment for me, good quality ones last me a long long time. This shape generally suits me but I would so love to try them on before buying. Genuinely love this product and they look awesome on you.
Thank you Stella and thanks for taking your time to read. I get you on the point about trying them on before purchasing.
These are a great style! I love that they are PETA approved as well, I didn’t realize that sunglasses may not be. Have you tried the Fly? I personally think they might not suit your face but the Carmen are perfect. I might be wrong so please do share with us when you get the Fly.
My choice is Carmen in Black. Love your blog.
What a great idea to make glasses of waste materials – and they look hot too 🙂
The look of it is nice. Also, that has different good colors to choose from. It covers the entire eyes from the sun as well.
I really love this idea! Do you know if any sunglasses from this brand are stocked in shops? I can’t risk ordering sunglasses online because my face is a bit of an odd shape. Thanks!
That’s a good point Zoe. I’ll try to find out and share with you.
I can’t live without a good pair of sunglasses particularly since I am living in the Sunshine State. Thanks for sharing.
They look really good. I’m pretty sure they fit on almost any outfit.
I am a bit choosy in selecting sunglasses for me as not all sunglasses suit my face. These sunglasses are looking awesome and the prices are also reasonable.
Thank you for sharing these — I hadn’t heard about these before. There are very cute and I didn’t know Aviator frames are coming back! I need to check this out
woow…a lovely shade design, love the frame shape especially, uniquely lovely to wear & oair with OOTD, gonna check out for more. cheers, sienny
These are really stylish glasses. And the best part of these glasses are that they are made of waste. Really commendable initiative.
