Here’s what you should look for when booking an eco-responsible hotel.

Energy consumption is a significant factor. Look for hotels that use energy-efficient lighting like LEDs, have energy-saving appliances, and employ renewable energy sources such as solar or wind power. Some hotels might also have a smart energy management system in place.
3. Water Conservation

A great recycling program is a hallmark of a responsible hotel and one of the most difficult ones to find in areas like my country Kenya. Food miles and sourcing practices matter. Opt for hotels that source food locally, use organic and seasonal ingredients, and support local farmers.
