SUSTAINABLE FASHION TALKS
Sustainable Fashion Talks is an initiative by Eco Fashion Week Africa (www.ecofashionweekafrica.com), created to spotlight organizations and brands committed to environmental stewardship.
When our founder, Belinda Atieno, moved back to her country Kenya in 2021, she struggled to find an open and accessible space to connect with people in sustainability that was similar to what she was experiencing in Europe. The existing circles felt exclusive, creating a clear divide between industry experts well-versed in circularity—especially in fashion—and those who were curious but lacked access to the conversation. There was no space for exploration, learning, or meaningful interaction between newcomers and seasoned professionals.
Determined to bridge this gap, Sustainable Fashion Talks was born—an inclusive platform where industry leaders, experts, and individuals interested in sustainability can connect, learn, and grow together. Our goal is to welcome people into the sustainability movement by showcasing real, imperfect transitions through events, forums, collaborations, and workshops designed to raise awareness and drive action against climate change.
This was started with the hope that others would take inspiration from our work, creating a ripple effect —and we’ve already seen clear results of this happening. As more people embrace sustainability, share their journeys, and take action in their own spaces, our collective impact continues to grow.
This is a space for learning and growth, where knowledge is shared without judgment, curiosity is encouraged, and every conversation sparks meaningful action—bringing us one step closer to a more sustainable planet.
